Cats are mammals, hence they share many mammalian qualities. They have fur, live births, and feed their kids milk from their bodies.
Retractable claws: Cat claws are unusual. Claws stay hidden beneath hair and skin while the animal relaxes. They are around the toe pads to prevent them from wearing down as they walk.
Single hunters but social: When owners feed them, cats don't need to hunt. However, these affectionate creatures love to be among other cats, people, and animals.
The female cat gives birth to live kittens. The mother eats the kittens' amniotic sacs. Kittens require their mothers' care till 8 weeks.
Fast reflexes: The cat's ability to land on its feet is perhaps its most famous trait. These creatures reflexively rotate to rest on their paws after falling roughly 10 feet.
Impressive night vision: The tapetum lucidum in the cat's eye lets it see everything in the dark with 15%-20% the light humans require. When a cat is getting the maximum light, its pupils may fill their whole face.
Increased hearing and smell: Cats can hear noises from 500 Hz to 32 kHz, compared to 20 Hz to 15 kHz for humans. The olfactory bulb and mucosa provide them superior smell.
Sharp teeth: Domestic cats gained two long canine teeth from their forefathers, which shaped their skulls. Domestic animals no longer cat and kill their prey, hence their teeth are smaller.
